Why we're really left of center, even though you won't admit it...

This surprised me.  But it shouldn't have.  (LinkHere)
Actually, as with most things in life, it's complicated.  The difference comes down to American's actual beliefs and values and how they like to broadly categorize themselves.  Look at the stat's cited in the article.  They're quite enlightening.  Like the lady that said "I don't want government-run health care. I don't want socialized medicine. And don't touch my Medicare!"
I believe that part of the problem is the those of us who are left of center put up with to much negativity and name calling.  One point that I've made before:  If the liberals are "Progressive's", doesn't that make the conservative's Regressive?  Crimany sakes, there's an insurance company that goes by that name!  They advertise a lot and are proud of their name!
Maybe American's just like to be lumped into one pot, even though it's really too hot for them.
