What a surprise. They stand to lose the most. That's the main thing I used to like about McCain, his former support of fixing this.

Come on. This is just common sense. It doesn't violate anybody's right to free speech, as the argument goes...

"What we know is more money than ever is flooding into the election. We don't know where it's coming from,"
Again, Duh. And again, who do you suppose this benefits the most.
And another thing that the R's portray as a Free Speech issue... States where the citizen initiative process is legal. This has gotten TOTALLY out of hand since the Supreme Court allowed paid signature gatherers. What it now amounts to is that anybody with the $ can get whatever they want on the ballot by using paid "volunteers" to solicit signatures.
