Empathy - Yes, I agree wholeheartedly. Yet I find it difficult to display that quality when the Republicans/Conservatives proudly yearn for the opposite values.
Should empathy be extended to those who espouse the opposite values? Should forgiveness be granted to Republicans who profess one set of beliefs and display the opposite? It's not easy to be forgiving to conservatives who espouse hatred for Gay's and then in fact turn out to have homosexual tendencies. Or bible thumping religious zealots who condemn others because of a narrow interpretation of only certain parts of the bible.
The congregation of the Westboro Baptist Church.
People like John McCain because of his unsupportable and politically motivated opposition to the rescission of DADT.
Larry Craig, the outspoken critic of Gay rights who was arrested in a bathroom for soliciting homosexual sex.
Mark Foley of Florida, a Representative form Florida who resigned under circumstances very soliciting gay sex from male pages.
The Republicans, "The Party of Family Values" is neither the party of the family nor the party of values.
Newt Gingrich, the former Speaker of the House has been married three times, each time having an affair while married. Newt was a very vocal critic of Clinton during the Lewsinksy fiasco while he (Newt) publicly conducted matters at least if not more egregious.
