Republicans | Democrats |
Ideology over logic, science and facts. Intolerant of dissent. | Can’t agree on anything. Tolerate dissent within the ranks. |
Want to impose their morals on others. | Can’t agree on what morals are. Embrace diversity. |
Want a blank check for military. | Want a balance of funding priorities. Don’t want to cripple the military anywhere near as much as the R’s like to claim. |
Espouse the unsupportable notion that tax breaks for the rich will magically levitate the entire economy. | Remember the Regan years when it was conclusively proven that “A rising tide floats all yachts.” |
Claim to be the fiscally conservative. | Are at least as fiscally conservative as the R’s, and history shows that they are substantially more fiscally conservative than the R’s. |
Claim to be the party of ‘Family Values’ while many leaders within their party display quite contradictory values. | Support families with tax breaks, health care, and other programs. Are not saints, but not hypocrites either. |
Want to privatize Social Security and Medicare/Medicaid. Derisively argue that such programs are “Socialistic”. | Realize that Medicare & Medicaid are much more cost efficient than private programs and that Social Security is important to many Americans. |
Derisively refer to the D's as "Progressives". | Wonder why they use that term with derision. There is an insurance company that proudly uses that name. And doesn't using that term make their opponents "Regressive"? |

D's vs. R's - What's the difference?
Here's my take on this. Admittedly, I lean toward the left of things. Probably because my parents were strongly toward the right. I'd like your opinion too.
